Ways to Partner with Us

Prayer
Shunem Ministries began through prayer . . . by putting first the interest in advancing God’s Kingdom.

God works in ways beyond our understanding. It has been said that “prayer is as a slender nerve that moves God’s heart.” As we pray, He works. Our trust and dependence on Him pleases him.

None of His work will be effective, nor can it go on without  prayer support.

Financial Giving

The purpose of Shunem House is to minister to traveling missionaries.

Operation funds are acquired through individual giving, auxiliary groups, churches, organizations, and donations from guests. We operate as a 501c(3) public charity. End of the year receipting for charitable giving is provided.

In addition to general financial giving, your gift may be designated for a specific use, if you prefer. In a facility of this size, there are always ongoing special projects that entail expense. You may identify with:
General operational costs.

Subsidizing a missionary’s stay  - one night, a week, or an extended time.

Painting and/or Updating a room.

Outside projects like landscaping, opening/winterizing the pool.
Providing linens or other warm room touches.

Gift cards for missionaries who may need an extra touch of encouragement: like restaurants, recreational places, department stores, or an ice cream shop. Fill the apartment pantry with food.

Arrange to bring a work team.

Current Projects

  • Exterior Painting of the House
  • Gutter Covers – this would solve leaking in two areas of the house
  • Ceiling Repair, including scraping and painting, on a portion of the house’s main level. Two or three willing workers
  • General outside work. Front lawn Pond Cleanup
  • Inside work: Carpet cleaning. Window cleaning. Small Jobs from plumbing to electrical to general fix-it
  • Landscaping needs to happen near the new parking area. Some volunteers and about $1,000 would complete the project
  • An exercise room on an unused porch is a great potential project for individuals who appreciate the value of this. Many Missionaries actually work out at the beginning of the day. We have some equipment but have no place to put it. Enclosing this porch would be excellent!

We strive to be good stewards of what God has put in place for ministry to missionaries.
